“I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society.”
— Henry David Thoreau
My Philosophy
I chose the name “Three Chairs Coaching” fromThoreau‘s three symbolic chairs in his literary work, Walden. Thoreau advocated for three things; introspection, engaged conversation, and social connection/ community.
In my work with clients, I utilize these three core concepts in problem-solving, strength finding, and core.
Self-reliance, introspection, and awareness.
Hone your intrapersonal skills and identify personal gifting, core values, and strengths.
2. Relationships, friendship, and communication.
Identify and strengthen your interpersonal understanding, empathy, and communication skills.
3. Teams, community, and society.
Expand your gains to your workplace to promote effectiveness, productivity, and harmony on your team.
